In 1870">
In 1870, Francesc Majenti i Casals, known as "en Xec", opened a shop in the house under the "Pont Nou" bridge. He was a shoemaker. During the time of the Franco-Prussian war, the French who were quite starving in their country, used to come to Camprodon in order to buy some food.
"En Xec" sold them all the typical sausages "llonganisses, botifarres" and other products from the pigs he slaughtered for his own consumption, and thereby, he kept on slaughtering pigs. This was the beginning of one of the most traditional establishment of sausages and pork meat products in the village.
From that time and without a break, until today, we, his descendants, have been following the tradition started by our grandfather "en Xec" more than a hundred an twenty-five years ago.
